Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Columbus as Snow and Fog Create Hazardous Conditions; Warm-Up Coming This Week

COLUMBUS — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Franklin County until 11:00 a.m. Monday as light snow and patchy fog create slick conditions across Central Ohio, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Temperatures at John Glenn Columbus International Airport dropped to 22°F early Monday morning, with a wind chill making it feel closer to 15°F. Visibility fell to about one mile due to fog and light snow. East winds are blowing at around 5 mph.

What to Expect Today

Snow is likely through mid-morning, with less than half an inch of accumulation possible before conditions improve. The NWS advises drivers to slow down on bridges and overpasses, which freeze before road surfaces. After 11:00 a.m., the snow will taper off and skies will become partly sunny.
