COLUMBUS, A person died after a shooting early Saturday outside a hotel in north Columbus, police said.
Officers from the Columbus Division of Police received a call about a shooting around 1:31 a.m. on the 6100 block of Quarter Horse Drive.
Police went to the scene and found a person with a gunshot wound. The person died at the scene.
Police have not shared the victim’s name yet because they want to inform the family first.
The shooting happened outside the Candlewood Suites Columbus North.
The area is near Interstate 270 and Busch Boulevard. It is also close to the city of Worthington.
Police Are Still Investigating
Police have not arrested anyone yet. They also have not said what caused the shooting.
Detectives are now investigating the case.
This is one of several recent homicide investigations in Columbus. In a separate case, a woman was recently charged with murder in the Hilltop shooting death of James Pettigrew Jr.
